Day 0 started with boats arriving down here at the WPNSA and the measurement of new boat (Zero Gravitas) which thankfully passed, along with a number of new sails and all boats have been weighed and signed off.
The sun shone on the first day of the 2021 UK Cherub Nationals at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, however the wind also blew, averaging over 30 knots all day and gusting 40. Racing was abandoned and the fleet set out to find other ways to entertain themselves.
After a couple of hours of drinking tea and bimbling boats, the fleet set off to the lighthouse at Portland Bill to look at the sea, decide which boat would be best for surfing the huuuge rolling waves just off the bill and of course have an ice cream. ....
