The Kimberley Helping Hands Food Bank is hosting an open house on Saturday, Sept. 16 to give people a chance to see their new location and learn more about their vision for the new space and their future.
There are a significant number of people in Kimberley working on making sure all Kimberley and area households have access to healthy, nutritious and affordable food.
The second-annual Jingles for Jackets took place on Thursday, Dec. 23 although organizers made some last-minute changes to account for the extreme cold, the event was a huge success, raising $521 for the Kimberley Food Bank and 822 articles of warm clothing.
Coordinators Jingles for Jackets, which takes place this Thursday, are still going ahead with the event despite the cold weather forecasted, saying they’d decided, “there’s something wrong about cancelling a warm clothing drive event because it’s too cold outside.”
