have created. the island is located north of the antioch waterfront. the part of the island burning is inaccessible by car. the only way to get there is by water or helicopter. we have pictures from news chopper 2 before it got dark. fire crews were first called out about 3:00 this afternoon. the coast guard says it evacuated four people. seven others left the island on their own, and three refused to leave choosing to stay behind. at this hour, there are no reports of any injuries. the coast guard says at least two fire boats were called to the area and have been putting water on the fire. there s said to be about 30 homes on the island. not clear how many are year-round homes railroad weekend getaways. we do have a crew at the scene. we ll bring you more details as we get them. firefighters in oakland are on heightened weather alert. said to remain in place in north and east bay hills until thursday evening. oakland fire says it has extra engines ready to respond. if the
we want to bring you these live pictures of this fire burning right now, this is near antioch. it started around 3:00 this afternoon as a brush fire and quickly spread to the structure here. as you can see at least one structure is engulfed in flames. there are 20 other structures on the island. a handful of people live on this island. the coast guard helped with evacuations. everybody else has evacuated by their boats or getting assistance from the coast guard. they are aggressively fighting this fire from the land and the water. it looks like the fire has spread to two structures. the crews are working this very aggressively, but everyone on this island has been accounted for, which is good news. more than a dozen people live on this island in sacramento county. it s really in the delta just one mile across the antioch marina. just northeast of antioch. of course we ll be following this very closely and keep you posted with any updates. so far no injury, but as you can see,
