Although the wind was gusting, the skies were clear and Kim Stemler beamed as she observed proceedings at the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association Trade Tasting event on Tuesday,
“This initiative has been on our minds since before the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Stemler. “It's been a carefully thought-out process, considering the evolving needs and interests of our community, wineries and visitors.”
Reporting that this year's wine grape's “quality is exceptional,” the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association says the harvest of the vine fruit is in full swing with sparkling wine berries beginning the picking season in late August while still wine grapes started being harvested in late September.
After an unseasonably cool start to the year wine makers said this weather pattern is having an interesting impact on their grape harvest in a good way!
