[일요신문] 저출산으로 최근 10년 간 초·중·고 학생은 30% 줄었는데 전국 시도교육청과 산하 교육지원청 직원은 38%나 증가했다는 언론보도가 나왔다.
교육청 행정직원이 늘었음에도 되레 교사들의 행정업무만 증가했다는 지적이 뒤따랐다. 아교육청의 비대화는 교육재정이 넘쳐난 탓이라며 지방교육재정교부금 교부율을 낮춰야 한다는 주장도 제기됐다.
이에 한국교원단체총연합회(회장 하윤수·전 부산교대 총장)는 “교육청 직원이 크게 늘었는데도 교총 설문 결과, 여전히 현장 교원의 91%는 행정업무가 많다고 불만을 터뜨리고 있다”며 “교육청이 내건 학교 지원, 행정 부담 해소 명분은 실종됐다”고 비판했다.
