After Opening Statements, i will ask the first question. Then we proceed to questions from our panelists. Candidates will have one minute to answer each question. After each has had a turn, i will decide whether any rebuttal time is necessary. If so, candidates will receive an additional 30 seconds, but rebuttals will be reserved only for those candidates involved in criticisms. This is an event of the press Association Sponsors every four years, and we are pleased the university of missouri has partnered with us to broadcast this year event from the historic missouri theater. Like everything in 2020, things are little different, beginning with the fact that the theater is not open to the public. Our stage does allow everyone to stay physically separated, so that is why i am not wearing a mask. Look, lets id like to start by acknowledging, which im sure all of you do as well, sending my prayers for the health and safety of the first lady and the president of the United States after they tested positive for covid19. My wife, jill, and i pray they have a quick and full recovery. This is not a matter of politics. Its a bracing reminder to all of us that we have to take this virus seriously. Its not going away automatically. We have to do our part to be responsible. It means following the science, listening to the experts, washing our hands, social distancing. Day fromd every wilmington delaware to washington dc when i got elected as a young senator after my wife and daughter were killed and i didnt plan on staying in the senate. But i agreed i would stay for six months. [laughter] a long time ago. I started commuting. Fact is, they tell me i have logged more than 2 million miles on amtrak. So it is good to be here. It is not as fast as a helicopter, but i made a lot of Family Friends on amtrak. I am looking forward to getting on a train with you guys. I want to start by saying it is great to be in ohio. Friends, local elected officials. It is an honor to be here with tiffany. I know how hard it is for her. I say i know. I was in the position of her children. My dad went through the same thing. Back in scranton, pennsylvania, he lost his job. I remember walking up the stairs, making what i called that longest walk a parent has to make to tell a child he will have to leave. My dad only had a 3. 5 hour ride.
