Helsinki Police Department on Monday reported that it has wrapped up an investigation into procurement discrepancies at the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, revealing that three unnamed people are suspected of violating their official duties over a series of non-tendered procurements.
Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP) on Tuesday said the government will back the controversial bill, adding that she appreciates the concerns expressed by the Left Alliance.
The Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has finalised its draft bill for a patient safety act. Helsingin Sanomat on Sunday revealed that the act would grant regional authorities the right to suspend strikes and order individual employees to work under the threat of fine.
“I’m sure we’ll manage to bring the bill to the Parliament early next week,” Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Aki Lindén (SDP) stated in the Parliament House on Thursday, 8 September.
