Organisations demand justice in the killing of college girl in Dimapur

One day after a 25-year-old college girl identified as Supou P, pursuing her MA history final year at Unity college, was allegedly shot dead in Dimapur, various organisations have condemned the incident and demanded justice for the victim. Nagaland: Organisations condemn abuse of minors

Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has strongly condemned the shocking incident where three minors including a 9-year-old girl from Mon district were reportedly abused physically and mentally by a woman named Ronika Miachieo in Burma Camp, Dimapur. “It is very disheartening to learn of such incidences where minors are abused on the pretext of giving them a better life even in today’s society,” a DDCF press release stated. The forum has also lauded the Dimapur Police for their swift action in arresting the accused in the case. It has appealed to the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate and book the culprits and award befitting punishment as per the law. DDCF also requested the colony and village leaders to be vigilant in future to avoid occurrence of such unwanted incidents in their respective jurisdiction. KSUD organises career guidance for students

Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) organised a career guidance programme at Premier Lodge, 4th Mile, on June 11 with Pesha, accounts officer and manager of North East Christian University (NECU), and Khumeng, additional director of Land Record, Dimapur, as the resource persons. Delivering the presidential speech, K Buche Khiamniungan, encouraged the students to explore their capabilities and potential to uplift the union through their support and contributions. An update from the union stated that a short speech was also delivered by president of Khiamniungan Union Dimapur (KUD), wherein he stressed on the importance of acquiring education and encouraged the students to follow their own interest and become not just job seekers but creators as well.
