BAHAWALPUR: The first meeting of Khawaja Ghulam Farid Chair Management Committee was held at the Islamia University Bahawalpur, under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has claimed that former foreign minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif accumulated huge foreign remittances without explaining his source of income. But Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz s (PML-N) stalwart vehemently denied the allegations.

LAHORE: An accountability court on Friday sent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Asif to jail on 14-day judicial remand in an assets beyond means case.
Accountability Court Judge Syed Jawadul Hassan conducted the proceedings, wherein the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials produced Asif on the expiry of his physical remand term.
NAB Prosecutor Asim Mumtaz requested the court to extend the physical remand of the PML-N leader for another 14 days as the investigation could not be completed. He apprised the court of progress made during the investigation and stated that Asif was questioned about the alleged amounts received in his accounts. ....

LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore rejected National Accountability Bureau (NAB) request seeking a 15-day extension in the physical remand of PML-N leader Khawaja Asif and sent him on a 14-day judicial remand instead.
The PML-N leader was arrested late December last year from outside the residence of Ahsan Iqbal where he had come to attend a party meeting. NAB said Khawaja Asif has been arrested in a case pertaining to accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.
