Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok met with a delegation of the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) yesterday to discuss the formation of a new cabinet. He stressed that choosing the new ministers will be subject to the criteria all parties have agreed upon, including fair representation of women.
Hamdok also stressed the importance of unity within the FFC.
Prof Mohamed Wadaa from the Sudanese Baath Party said in a press statement yesterday that the FFC delegation presented its vision on how to solve the economic and security crises. That will require a strong government that represents all sectors of the revolutionary forces and the FFC, Wadaa said.

The Sudanese government will definitely implement the eastern Sudan track protocol, part of the Juba Peace Agreement, it signed with the Sudan Revolutionary Front rebel alliance in the South Sudanese capital on October 3 last year. The contents of the protocol led to fierce opposition from Beja leaders.
Sovereign Council member Lt Gen Shamseldin Kabashi travelled to Juba for a one-day visit yesterday, accompanied by FA Minister Omar Gamreldin, and Osama Saeed, chairperson of the Beja Opposition Conference who headed the negotiation delegation for the eastern Sudan track, and Khaled Idris, leader of the eastern Sudanese Popular Front for Liberation and Justice.

Yesterday, Vice President of the Sovereign Council Lt Gen Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, Hemeti met with President of the Beja Opposition Conference Osama Saeed in Khartoum to discuss the eastern Sudan peace track protocol. Hemeti affirmed the government s desire to implement the

During yesterday’s meeting, Hemeti also stated the government’s intention to not undermine the agreements that were achieved in the interests of the people of eastern Sudan in the Juba Peace Agreement.
In a statement, the Beja Opposition Conference said that the leaders who signed the eastern Sudan track are open to a dialogue with those who rejected the agreement and aim to reach a common understanding that will benefit the people of the east.
