Keeping those stories alive is the work of Historic Preservationists. Each year, Colorado Preservation Incorporated assembles a list of Historic Sites that are threatened by time, neglect, or development. The site where we are today was added to the list back in 2001. Its camp amache, one of 10 japanese resettlement camps built by the u. S. Government during wwii to house japaneseamericans.
