(KEYC) Voters in the Fairmont Area School District have approved funding for improvements. New additions are being made to help promote jobs for skilled workers. Those additions include an expanded woodworking and automation shop, a programming lab and a manufacturing lab. The multi-million dollar project was intended to give students in grades 7-12 real-world experience in a new way that they might not normally get through school. “It’s a wonderful opportunity, not only for our school district, but more importantly for south central Minnesota because this was an effort to really link the private sector and the public sector together for a common cause, which is to increase the number of skilled workers we have in Minnesota,” Fairmont Superintendent Joe ....
