Jamaica’s Kay-Lagay Clarke of Barton Community College and Calleisha Chance of Iowa Western Community College were double winners at their respective National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Regional indoor championships last weekend. Former St Jago High standout Clarke won the women’s triple jump and 60m hurdles at the Region VI Indoor championships held at the Robert W plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas while Chance, the former Vere Technical athlete, won.

Sagicor Group Jamaica pulled off a successful first staging of the Sagicor Sigma Run Invitational 5K event this morning despite a surge in COVID-19 positive cases in the country.
The top 100 runners over the past five years from the annual Sigma Corporate Run, also organized by Sagicor Group Jamaica, were invited to participate. Eighty-nine athletes eventually took part in the run.
Alysia White, vice president of Sagicor’s group marketing and executive director of the Sagicor Foundation said that the invitational event got the nod of approval from all the relevant authorities and was held in keeping with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
