Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): Nagaland Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha, today declared the result of the state-level Kala Utsav 2022 competition at the directorate of School Education, Kohima. Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country. The students competed in the field of vocal music, traditional and classical, instrumental music traditional & classical, dance in traditional and classical, visual art and indigenous toy, an update from the directorate stated. It stated that the winners would represent the state at the national-level Kala Utsav scheduled in Bhubaneswar, Orisa. The additional director of School Education, Razouseyi Vese, has exhorted the gathering on the occasion. Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 7 (EMN): Following a crucial meeting with the state government on Friday, the All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG)-2015 batch called off its agitation with immediate effect after 12 days of sit-in and eight days of hunger strike. The ad hoc teachers had been staging a peaceful protest in Kohima since September 26, demanding the government to regularise their services. A five-point resolution, including constitution of a High Powered Committee within 15 days to address the issue and to resolve the matter before the end of next year, was passed at the meeting on Friday that continued for more than six hours, following which the agitating teachers agreed to call off the protest. Headed by Principal Secretary to the chief minister, KD Vizo, the meeting was held with the ANATG-2015 batch central and core committee members in the presence of the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA), at the conference hall, Department of IT&C ....
Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 1 (EMN): The members of the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) -2015 batch on Saturday decided to submit a representation ‘denouncing’ the agreement made by the government officials and ANATG delegation, and will continue its hunger strike. The decision to quash the government’s offer through a representation was taken after the agitating adhoc teachers held a series of discussion at Solidarity Park, Kohima on Saturday. The adhoc teachers have been staging a sit-in since Monday, demanding the government to regularise their services. The protest entered the sixth day on Saturday and the second day of hunger strike. It was informed that the ANATG will take a day or two to submit its representation to the state government, and in the meantime continue the hunger strike, including on Sunday after a short prayer service.
