Kenneth Janesk of St Augustine fills 7th Circuit judge vacancy

Becoming a judge was not something Kenneth Janesk II thought about when he started his legal career. Janesk, a St. Augustine resident, said in a recent phone interview that his interest in becoming a judge developed after he d practiced law as a prosecutor for a decade or so. “After 10 years of looking at judges almost everyday of your life, Janesk said, it becomes something that you start to think: “This is something that I’d love to do, I’d like to have their job. I’d love to serve the community the way they do.” Now Janesk will get that opportunity. Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed Janesk to serve as a circuit judge in the 7th Judicial Circuit, which covers Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns and Putnam counties.

DeSantis Passes Over Rendzio and Names Kenny Janesk Judge in 7th Judicial Circuit, Which Includes Flagler

Kenny Janesk has been the assistant state attorney’s managing partner at the Putnam County office. (Jennifer Dunton) Gov. Ron DeSantis today, amid a series of judicial appointments, named Kenneth Janesk II of St. Augustine to serve as a circuit court judge in the Seventh Judicial Circuit, which includes Flagler, Volusia, St. Johns and Putnam counties. Janesk has been a prosecutor in the Seventh Circuit State Attorney’s Office since 2011, working as the managing attorney of the Putnam County office. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. He is married to Jennifer Dunton, the Assistant State Attorney assigned to the Flagler office who is currently on maternity leave. Obviously, Dunton would not argue cases before Janesk, who is likely to be assigned in Putnam County.
