I am kevin cho i. Michelle is on assignment. The water at the orville dam is at a dangerous level, water so high the emergencies delay was used for the first time in 50 years. Kpix 5 reporter m a is live to tell us reporter and mackovic s life to tell us more. Officials with Water Resources and the Sheriffs Office have been inspecting the dam and its spillways all morning trying to identify their options to shore up the infrastructure here. Some good news. They have lowered the lake level to the point where no overflow is going through that emergency spillway. The spillway was causing erosion down tree downstream. There was concern the erosion could break through the wall of the lake, unleashing a 30 foot wall of water, crossing south overwhelming channels and levees downstream. That is what led to the evacuation of 188,000 people. We dont know when that Evacuation Order is going to be lifted but on their way out, they have clogged roadways, overbooked hotels, and left thousands with n
