EATONTOWN - The Borough Council, by a narrow vote, is moving forward with a land swap, part of a plan to create a green corridor between Wolcott Park and Wampum Lake Park.
The land swap involves a private property at 104 Lewis St., owned by Culmac Investors Inc., based in Monmouth Beach, for borough-owned land near Hilbert Parkway in the Woodmere section.
The plan received endorsements from the borough s Traffic Advisory, Complete Streets Advisory and Recreation Advisory committees. The property on Lewis Street will help bring the Eatontown Greenway project to fruition which would create a safe bike and pedestrian route between Wolcott Park and Wampum Lake, said Kevin Halvorsen, chair of the Traffic Advisory Committee.
