Industrial park land that supported a bountiful community garden for many years could soon produce a different kind of harvest.
The Housing Assistance Corporation, a nonprofit housing organization that owns the land, is proposing that its acreage be used for a solar farm.
The proposal was discussed on Wednesday night, January 26, by a subcommittee of the Cape Cod Commission. The regional planning agency reviews all Cape Cod development projects that are larger than 30 acres.
Dan Watson, of Connecticut-based Lodestar Energy, said his company would like to build a 2.1-megawatt ground-mounted solar array on the Housing Assistance Corporationâs 46 acres at the end of Jan Sebastian Drive.
