State archers undergoing training for North East Olympic Games 2022

Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 23 (EMN): A total of 24 archers including 12 males and equal number of females are undergoing intensive training currently at IG complex in Kohima. The archers will represent Nagaland state at the upcoming North East Olympic Games 2022. Officials are preparing the 24 athletes out of which eight (four men and women each) will be competing in the three categories of the archery segment – recurve division, compound division and Indian round, during the second edition of the Olympic games beginning next month at Shillong, Meghalaya. Interacting with Eastern Mirror at the archery ground at IG complex, Neisevotuo Terhase, archery coach from the department of Youth Resources and Sports, informed that the athletes will be participating during the archery competition as team, individual and mixed team. Nagaland Archery Association felicitates archers, coaches for winning medals in various events

Our Correspondent Kohima, May 28 (EMN): Nagaland Archery Association (NAA) on Saturday felicitated archers and coaches from the state who won medals at the recently concluded Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Northeast Sports Festival 2022 and 1st Khelo India Archery Tournament NE held at Imphal from April 27 to May 3rd. The total medal tally from both the competitions was 27 including four gold, two silver, and 21 bronze. During the 1st Khelo India Archery Tournament NE held on May 1, the archers secured seven medals in total — three gold, two silver and two bronze. The gold medallists were Kevikieno Rikha (senior reserve), Thenuhielie Metha (senior compound), and Nikesa Sakhrie (sub-junior compound). The silver medals were secured by Kilenmeren (senior recurve) and Vesevolu Swuro (junior), while Rovine Domeh (senior recurve) and Ruovinuo Theunuo secured a bronze medal each.
