The D-day is here. The counting of municipal polls have begun in Andhra Pradesh. Ruling YSR Congress Party is clearly showing its dominance in the municipalities that opted for election. Opposition TDP is trailing behind. BJP, Congress and Janasena Party have failed to show their strength in the municipal elections.
Going by the declared results, YSRCP has won Done, Chittoor, Tirupati, Pulivendula, Erraguntla, Rayachoti, Naidupet, Kovvuru, Atmakur, Sullurpet, Punganoor, Madanapelle, Dhone, Palamneru, Macherla, Piddugurala, Kanigiri municipalities. TDP won Tadipatri municipality.
Tadipatri: In a tough-fight, TDP has bagged Tadipatri Municipality. This is TDP’s first victory in the Municipal Polls. Of the 36 wards, TDP won 18 wards. The YSRCP won the elections to the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) with a thumping majority on Sunday.
The ruling party registered victory in 49 of 64 wards, while the Opposition TDP, which was at the helm in the previous term, could win only in 14 wards. ....

VIJAYAWADA: A day after three of his party leaders came out openly against Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) bringing to the fore the bickerings in the party, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu rued that internal democracy in the party had gone beyond limits and vowed to set things right.
Without directly referring to the rebellion of MLC Buddha Venkanna, former MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and minority leader Nagul Meera against Nani, Naidu, who held a roadshow in the city on Sunday, said the TDP could achieve better results if party leaders put up a united fight to keep the YSRC at bay in the VMC elections. ....
