CECI raises over $25,000 with Spring Beach Cleanup By CECI - | Apr 28, 2021 The Children’s Education Center of the Islands has called its recent fundraiser a huge success. Executive Director Kerra Cook reported that the Spring Beach Cleanup on March 27 raised more than $25,000 through donations, pledges and the ticket purchases five times the CECI’s original goal. “Our fundraising effort will be ongoing, but these results ensure much greater stability for us as we face the months ahead,” she said. A total of 59 children took part in the cleanup, ranging from toddlers to school-age youth. Cook reported that the participants collected more than 150 pounds of trash from the island beach. ....
