The developer of RISE Doro, a downtown apartment complex that was destroyed in a massive fire, is a real estate company named RISE. The company has dozens of apartment complexes located across the country in its portfolio, including several in the Jacksonville area.
After a devastating fire left a brand-new luxury apartment building unsafe and likely to be demolished, tenants who expected to move in this weekend will have to live elsewhere.
The fire that destroyed the RISE Doro apartments in Downtown Jacksonville sparked just days before the final inspection that would have allowed the building’s sprinkler system to be activated.
Jacksonville-based Gate bought the land in 2021 and will join Culver’s, Slim Chickens and Embassy Suites at the residential and retail development at Butler and Hodges boulevards.
