Sankale, key suspect in Jennifer Wambua murder case to take mental test

A Kiambu Court has ordered Peter Njenga alias ole Sankale, the prime suspect in the murder of a National Land Commission (NLC) official to undergo a mental assessment to ascertain if he is fit to stand trial.
Mr Njenga who appeared virtually before Kiambu Principal Magistrate Grace Omondo was directed to appear in court on Wednesday for further directions.
Nicholas Olesena, the investigating officer, told the court that they had cracked the murder case after DNA results placed Njenga at the crime scene.
Mr Olesena further requested the court for seven days to allow the suspect to undergo a mental assessment test. ....

Investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have revealed shocking details on how National Land Commission (NLC) official Jennifer Wambua was murdered.
And one Peter Mwangi Njenga, alias Ole Sankale, the prime suspect has since been placed at the scene of the crime by forensic evidence as well as witnesses who saw him with the deceased the last time she was seen alive on March 12, 2021.
Through criminal intelligence, detectives repeatedly combed the crime scene and managed to pick crucial exhibits, which were marked, packaged, and presented for forensic examination. ....

Third suspect in journalist Jennifer Wambua murder detained

The third suspect linked to the murder of journalist Jennifer Wambua has been remanded for a further 14 days as detectives continue with investigations into the killing.
Peter Mwangi Njenga alias Sankale was detained by Kiambu Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi after the prosecution filed an application asking for more time for police to piece together evidence.
In a sworn affidavit, investigating officer Vincent Langat said they had obtained several exhibits, among them mobile phones, that were still undergoing forensic analysis.
He told court that after checking DCI criminal data, they found that Njenga had four pending cases on robbery with violence and theft. He said cheek swabs obtained from Njenga had been forwarded to the Government Chemist for analysis. ....

Two suspects in the murder of National Land Commission (NLC) official Jennifer Wambua have been detained for a further 10 days.
Kiambu Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi allowed the police to detain Benjamin Saitoti and David Sempuan until May 3 after the prosecution asked for more time to enable detectives piece together crucial evidence.
Another suspect, Peter Njenga alias Sankale, is also in police custody after detectives said he is believed to have crucial evidence that could help them in the ongoing probe.
Wambua went missing on March 12 but her body was found at Kerarapon in Ngong the next day. ....
