Apart from Tanzania, Kenya under coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee also played another friendly at the venue, beating South Sudan 1-0 courtesy of a goal scored by AFC Leopards striker Elvis Rupia.
The second friendly saw Kenya beat their neighbours 2-1, with the goals coming from Rupia and Abdallah Hassan.

The 53-year-old has further explained why Michael Mutinda was substituted after 30 minutes with Danson Namasaka taking his place. I would like to appreciate Tanzania for the game they have played, like in the first half they played with a high tempo and were doing a lot of interchanges, Mulee told

[The tempo] disoriented us a little; then we had Mutinda, we thought he had fully recovered from the injury he was nursing but it was not the case and we had to replace him.
However, the former Tusker FC coach was impressed with the outcome, further insisting the friendly matches will give him an opportunity to gauge the potential of every player.
I do not believe in the notion that foreign-based players are better than the local lads. What I believe in is that every player given an equal chance can perform for this country.
Mulee also explained why Harambee Stars delayed goal against South Sudan on Saturday should not be a source of worry.
The Bright Stars kept the Kenyan side at bay for the better part of the game until when Elvis Rupia scored in the 75th minute after connecting to a cross from Dabnson Chetambe.
According to Mulee, the time when the goal is scored should not be a worry but what should be counted as positive is the fact they got a goal and won the friendly at Nyayo Stadium.
