When Ward Five residents call Mary Watts, she’s going to answer.
“If it means that much to them to pick up the phone and call, they must really have a passion, it must really mean something to them,” Watts said. “So I will listen. I don’t necessarily want to take it as a complaint, but let’s bring it up, bring it out, talk about it, and find a way to address it.”
The 39-year-old Watts is one of three newly elected first-time Jacksonville aldermen. She will attend her first City Council meeting as Ward Five alderman today. ....
