Save the Children Canada (SC Canada) is working to increase its capacity to support Indigenous partners in preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies. SC Canada’s domestic program (National Reconciliation Program) works with First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities across the country to support locally led, rights-based, culturally relevant and safe interventions during times of crisis.
As SC Canada’s work in the area has grown so has the need to develop appropriate systems and processes to better respond to the challenges faced by a diverse range of Indigenous organizations that serve Indigenous communities. Several Dozen Cases Of COVID-19 Reported In The Region

A total of 40 new cases of COVID-19 in the region today.
Most are in the Kenora area with 38 positive reports.
There was also one in Dryden/Red Lake and one in the Sioux Lookout area.
The 38 cases are by far a one day record in the Kenora area.
The Wabaseemoong First Nation sent out a release last night saying “As many people are aware, the COVID-19 pandemic is spreading within the Kenora Region, and it is having impact on our community.
We are continuing to do everything we can, and have ensured we have multiple safety protocols and measures in place to combat this. ....
