COURTESY OF TURNER FREE LIBRARY The town of Randolph was recently presented with the Massachusetts Municipal Association s 2020 Kenneth E. Pickard Municipal Innovation Award at its annual conference. The award was given for the creation of the Randolph Resiliency Committee to promote volunteerism and combat food & economic insecurity during the pandemic. The Kenneth E. Pickard Municipal Innovation Award is sponsored each year by the MMA to recognize municipalities that have developed unique and creative projects or programs to increase the effectiveness of local government. It is named in honor of Kenneth E. Pickard, executive secretary of the Massachusetts League of Cities and Towns from 1969 to 1973. The Randolph Resiliency Committee first convened on March 20, 2020, and continues to meet monthly to collaborate on community service initiatives. ....
