Funeral held for Brockton police Lt. LeGrice who died of cancer


His brother, Robert LeGrice, may have summed him up best.
He was truly an amazing man, said Robert LeGrice, giving the eulogy for his brother.
Brockton police Lt. Kenneth LeGrice, a longtime Stonehill College softball coach, died May 5 at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer  one that he fought fiercely until the very end, his obituary said.
It s a testament to how great Ken s impact on people was how full this church is, said the Rev. Timothy Mouton, the Stonehill College athletic chaplain. 
The memories LeGrice left were celebrated by hundreds of friends, family members, athletes and coworkers Tuesday morning at his funeral service at St. Edith Stein Parish in Brockton. ....

Stonehill softball coach, Brockton police Lt. LeGrice dies of cancer


BROCKTON  Longtime Brockton police officer and decorated Stonehill College softball coach Kenneth LeGrice died Wednesday after a long and courageous battle with cancer, the college announced. He was 62.
Words cannot begin to express the significant impact Ken has had on so many in the Stonehill community during his 17 years with us as a coach, and his contributions to Stonehill and the Brockton community will forever be felt and remembered,  Stonehill Director of Athletics Dean O Keefe said in a statement.
LeGrice, a West Bridgewater resident and 34-year veteran of the Brockton Police Department who began his career in the city in June of 1986, died early Wednesday in a Boston hospital. LeGrice began his career with the Avon Police Department. ....
