Auditor gives city a two on a four-point diversity, equity and inclusion scale
The city of West Linn has considerable work to do to live up to its goal of fostering greater equity in town, a recent audit revealed.
In assessing the local government s performance in a report paid for by the city, Kenley Group gave West Linn a two on a four-point scale when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion. The report states that while the city has acknowledged the need for DEI and devoted some resources to the cause, it has not taken the steps necessary to spark organizational change.

Greater Portland Inc. has named Monique Claiborne as the organization s new president and CEO. Claiborne will oversee the nonprofit public-private partnership, which advances regional economic development through job growth and investment in the seven-county, bistate region.
GPI seeks to attract businesses to the Portland area, including Southwest Washington, by selling them on the region s charm, its cool factor, and its shovel-ready land. Regional economic development agency Greater Portland Inc. named a new CEO this week, Monique Claiborne.
GPI is a privately run agency that works with local governments to recruit new businesses to the Portland region and seeks to assist those considering local expansion. Claiborne starts her new job with the organization Monday.
Previously, she was founder of Portland consulting firm The Kenley Group. Claiborne had earlier been business attraction manager for the Detroit Regional Chamber and worked as a tax consultant for Ernst & Young. In Oregon, she sits on the board of Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette.
