He picks up 60 of the vote. But 40 of the voters said no to him. To what extent was that percentage a protest vote against ed lee . I would say it absolutely is. Mayor gavin newsom in 2007, the year he had an fair with the wife of one of his employees who worked for him got 74 of the vote. This is not as much of a mandate as the mayor could have ....
