A small group of students at the vanguard of a national movement testing the idea of a three-year bachelor’s degree spent the summer in class, reducing the time and cost it takes to get through college.
Students at the University of Minnesota Rochester are participating in the College in 3 pilot which offers students the opportunity to work through the summer to earn their degrees in three years.
The University's program, NXT GEN MED, seeks to accelerate the academic process. With its focus on health care, the idea is to get college graduates out the door and into the workforce faster and more cheaply than in the past.
