this is cnn breaking news. hello, everyone. thank you very much for joining me this sunday i m fredericka whitfield and we begin with this breaking news. three u.s. troops were killed and two dozen more injured in a drone attack on a small u.s. outpost in jordan near the border with syria and iraq. u.s. officials say the drone landed near the living quarters at the base. this is the first time u.s. troops have been killed by enemy fire in the middle east since war erupted in gaza october 7th and it marks a significant escalation in an already precarious situation in the region. president biden reacting a short time ago vowing the u.s. will hold those responsible to account. we have full coverage of this breaking story pf natasha bertrand is in washington, kevin l liptak is at the white house and natasha, what are we learning about the attack? fredericka, this was know extremely significant attack and it was done by a one-way attack drone and hit the living q ....

get that from your mother? i would call them hunter and sandy. a lot of people have asked about that. and why. i really think it was hunter and what he wanted to be called. when you are parents, you tell them what the name is. it will be hunter. not bad. and it was partially him that the late 60s and 70s for the counterculture heou was part of rejecting everything parents believed in raised them to believe and that applied to parenting as well. when i was in my 20s i tried to call him dad. [laughter] that did not feel right.erested i am interested with the writing of the book were there any surprises about your dad? or yourself? one of the surprising things were the letters i cannot believe i have just forgotten about them. had. and their other letters that i found that talk about how he will pay for my college tuition that he did not want me to know about the stress he was under and that was surprising and touching and it seemed out of character. if he is not ....
managed. the example that i give his aides. from the late 70s when the first case of aids and people were getting these infections and you cannot culture the organism and could not find out the cause. they invariably died. was very highly stigmatized. but it s happening people who were gay or drug users. but the advocacy was so telling and so effective that money was poured into research and by 1984 that virus was isolated and in 1987 the first treatment was introduced. so a man who was diagnosed with aids he was dead within a year, in 1991 magic johnson was diagnosed with aids, and i saw him the other day. he is leading day. he is leading a pretty normal life with treatment. so it is simply a matter of getting good treatment. the last thing i say is this variation of quality of care everywhere, it s more varied than in psychiatric care just because the field is well developed. you need to find good treatments and if you do that i think you should be able to help measur ....
that is sustainable over time. i think those are all vague rings, i m not a policy person. i m looking at how these things spread and what are the approaches we can take to empower communities to come up with their own solutions. do we ask them, what you think we should do? and they said what i think we should have bed nights, no they don t, we they say we would like better water into this town or whatever it is. thank you. i m from a part of this world where this has impacted me but nonetheless i m talking about the care being and they have a huge problem because of the poverty and marginalization. i m happy that you talked about the fact that public health issue and sanitation issue basically are more important than medical issues for stopping a lot of stuff from happening. two questions, the first, because we have not talked about that but i know both from europe and from the united states of america and other developed countries there are attempts to place people ....
