United States-based menswear brand Wool&Prince and its womenswear sister-brand wool& now have a completely traceable Merino wool supply chain that champions the natural fibre’s origin and heritage in Australia. Wool&Prince was famously launched in 2013 when its founder, Mac Bishop, successfully wore his Merino wool shirt for 100 straight days without washing or ironing, proving the easy-care and versatile nature of the fibre. From a single shirt product, the brand’s range has expanded massively, but high-quality Merino wool is still at its heart. In 2018, its womenswear sister-brand wool& was launched, again with Merino wool as the brand’s foundation. ....
Study: L300 Foot Drop System Improves Gait Speed in Stroke Survivors Bioness Inc has announced the results of a recent study that shows significant improvement in gait speed when stroke patients utilized the Bioness L300 Foot Drop System. The study, titled “Response and Prediction of Improvement in Gait Speed from Functional Electrical Stimulation in Post-Stroke Drop Foot,” demonstrated that subjects with chronic stroke can achieve a meaningful improvement in the speed of their ambulation with functional electrical stimulation (FES) therapy, according to a Bioness news release. The Bioness news release notes that subjects using the L300 had their gait speed progressively improve over 42 weeks, with ?50% of subjects achieving a clinically meaningful 42-week total effect and 50% achieving their maximum gait speed by 12 weeks. Overall, the group experienced an immediate increase of walking speed of 19%, which continued to improve to 33.3% and 45.2% at 30 and 42 weeks, res ....
The former Frosty’s Donuts in Freeport is literally on the move. Its former site, in a freestanding building just off Freeport’s Main Street, not far from the L.L.Bean flagship store, has been moved off its foundation. A new foundation has been laid, and related work is being handled by Curtis Custom Carpentry of Durham. The building is owned by the Freeport Historical Society, which is renovating the building as part of a larger makeover of the historic Harriman house and grounds. Well before it was a doughnut shop, the building served as the stable for the Harriman family and is known as the barn. Keith McBride, economic development director for the town of Freeport, calls the historical society’s site a “jewel on Main Street.” ....
