Controls in the cockpit and making history. i m going to interrupt my normally scheduled briefing here for some exciting news. southwest flight number 3658 served as a maiden voyage of sorts for captain holly pettit as she introduced her co-pilot, keely. i would like to introduce to you, your first officer, a brand new member of the southwest team of pilots and my daughter, keely petitt. keely, come on up here! holly, an 18-year veteran pilot with southwest airlines, and her daughter keely made history as the first-ever mother and daughter to pilot a southwest plane together. holly s piloting career started when she was a young mother, raising three children all under the age of 4, while also working as a flight attendant. i got to sit on the jump seat in the flight deck. i sat up there and had an ah-ha moment where i was, this is it, ....
This is what i want to do with the rest of my life. so i went home, told my husband and he laughed because we had three kids. around 13, thanks to a christmas gift from her mom, keely went on her first flight with an instructor. i just remember going up on my intro flight. i was like, oh, my gosh, this is it, this is what i want to do forever, so, that is 100% because of my mom. in my, keely made it official, earning her pilot wings as a first officer. it was really fun watching keely do all of our training. she would text me, mom, i just flew an ils. and all excited. this barrier breaking mother daughter duo, both fulfilling their lifelong dreams. a love that goes to the moon and back, or in this case, from denver to st. louis. they not only share the same dream, but the same smile. thanks so much for watching. i m linsey davis here in new york. hope to see you right back here tomorrow. have a great evening and good night. ....
I tried to get some chest compressions on the boy, and then someone came over and told me they re a doctor, so i asked him if he could take over. i felt he was more qualified and my son was missing. and quite frankly my mind was there, i was trying to i couldn t focus. my own son is missing. that was front of mine, top priority. he focused enough to get to be that bridge to the doctor, has anyone in the family or you been able to touch base with bryant? not yet. but we have had people reach out and say that when they re ready, that they definitely want to set up that connection. keely and her husband jason, the parents, are so 100% focused at being at cooper s side now. keely was shot twice in the leg, and had several surgeries, demanded to be discharged so she could be with her son cooper who was at a different hospital. so they re just 100% focusing on him right now. and trying to pull him through ....
