Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries director Soth Sisokhean said the land, located in the communes Pongro and Chongkal in Chongkal district and the communes of Samrong and Konkriel in Samrong district, will be reforested in partnership with San Heang Company according to government guidelines. But he said some residents have been misinformed by individuals about land ownership, and now depend on the land for their livelihoods. In Phnom Penh, governor Khuong Sreng urged residents to stay home and refrain from travelling to other provinces. He noted that the 8pm-5am curfew scheduled to end on April 14 could be extended if people are careless in the lead-up to the holiday and the virus continues to spread. ....
Disposal teams have burned 1.6 tonnes of the 16 tonnes of unexploded ordnance (UXOs) that were retrieved from a warship sunk in the Mekong River in Kampong Cham province during the civil war period of the early 1970s. The remaining ordnance will be neutralised and preserved for museum displays.
