SINGAPORE - A key figure in the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) has stepped down as treasurer and member of the party's top decision-making body, the latest in a string of recent departures and controversies to have hit the opposition party founded by former People's Action Party MP Tan Cheng Bock. SINGAPORE: Mr Francis Yuen has been appointed the new secretary-general of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP), replacing Dr Tan Cheng Bock who will now take on the role as chairman of the party.
PSP appointed its office holders on Wednesday (Mar 31) at a Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting at the party s headquarters at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, it announced on Facebook on Thursday.

SINGAPORE - Former Republic of Singapore Air Force colonel Francis Yuen has been appointed secretary-general of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP), taking over from party founder Tan Cheng Bock.
Dr Tan, 80, has become party chairman. This was announced by the PSP on Thursday (April 1), after its central executive committee (CEC) met on Wednesday (March 31).
Mr Yuen, 71, was assistant secretary-general of PSP, and had run as a candidate in Chua Chu Kang GRC during the general election last year.
