NightQuarter bosses say a move to increase capacity at their Birtinya site by 800 people won t affect parking in the area.
Stockland, which owns the Kawana Way site, lodged an application with Sunshine Coast Council earlier this month to increase the maximum number of staff and patrons allowed in the night market and concert venue from 1200 to 2000.
Stockland also wants to increase trading hours for the award-winning venue so it can open between 4pm and 10pm, seven days a week.
It is important to note that it is not anticipated that the venue will operate seven days per week, every week, the application reads. ....

The federal government is poised to tip in half the cash for a major upgrade of one of the region’s worst intersections.
The Coast’s budget windfall was revealed by Federal MPs Ted O’Brien and Andrew Wallace ahead of Tuesday night’s federal budget.
The Morrison Government will allocate $160 million, half of the $320 million required to deliver the long-awaited Mooloolah River Interchange.
Fairfax MP Ted O’Brien said the interchange was a state government responsibility, but the federal government was stepping in after “too much talk and too little action”.

The Coast projects in Premier's federal budget wish list


Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has laid out her government s funding demands from the upcoming federal budget due to be handed down on Tuesday.
Chief on her wish list for the Sunshine Coast was a significant federal contribution towards the long-awaited Mooloolah River Interchange and a $20 million commitment to deliver Sunshine Coast Stadium expansion.
On Sunday Ms Palaszczuk released the list of measures her government wanted to see in Tuesday s budget.
The Premier and Treasurer Cameron Dick called on Prime Minister Scott Morrison to deliver for Queensland, citing the mass migration to the state, with figures showing more than 80 people a day shifted to Queensland in 2020, which they said demanded federal support. ....
