Parents of the abducted Government Science Secondary School students in Kankara area of Katsina State have converged on the premises of the school patiently waiting for their children to return as promised by the government. Their gathering is coming less than one week after the abduction took the nation by surprise. The parents have also been recounting their experiences as they continue to hope for the return of their children. Speaking to Channels Television, two of the parents said they couldn’t sleep, adding that they will continue to be spending the night at the school until their children are rescued safely. ....
Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari has disclosed that 17 of the missing schoolboys kidnapped from a Government Science Secondary School (GSSS) in Kankara Local Government Area of the state have escaped from captivity. Governor Masari who disclosed this in an interview on Monday evening said the schoolboys were found and have been reunited with their families. He added that efforts have been intensified to rescue the remaining schoolboys still in captivity, safely. “As at today (Monday), information available to me shows that 17 of the missing children have been found. 15 of them were found around Dinya in Danmusa, I was informed by the DPO. One other was found through them and the last, the father called that his son has returned home. ....

Lawmakers at the Red Chambers have again lamented over the state of insecurity in the country and recommended that President Muhammadu Buhari remove the Service Chiefs. The lawmakers made this known on Tuesday during the debate on the abduction of over 300 students following gunmen’s attack on Government Science Secondary School (GSS) in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State. This follows the motion raised by one of the lawmakers, Senator Bello Mandiya, from Katsina State. Senator Sani Musa while seconding the motion said, “There is a need for this chamber to draw the attention of Mr. President that enough is enough, these Service Chiefs should go. ....
