STEAMBOAT SPRINGS The steady whir a commercial ice cream maker fills the air in Jessi Watson has turned his attention and is using his talent, to create ice cream for Yampa valley Ice Cream Co. Watson, who graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in aerospace engineering, could not escape his passion for being in the kitchen. He is a trained pastry chef, helped teach programs at Colorado Mountain College, and was an executive chef for a kayaking retreat in Pucón, Chile. He helped get Yampa Valley Ice Cream Co. off the ground before heading to Chili, and when he returned last spring he became a driving force in the companies current push to find wholesale and more retail markets.
