WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - On December 28, Wichita Falls resident Kati Martin took her 14-month-old son Tommy to the doctor for what she thought was a simple rash.
“I froze. I didn’t even realize what he was saying,” said Kati. “It didn’t even hit me until they took him for surgery and took him away from me.”

MSNBC Andrea Mitchell Reports January 14, 2011

i want to thank you so much, so much for the chance to serve. and good day. i m andrea mitchell live in washington. it s decision day for the national republican committee. michael steele is expected to be ousted today as the party picks its next chairman. voting by secret ballot is already under way and expected to begin any minute. we should note a candidate needs 85 votes to win. and it s expected to take several rounds of voting to get a winner. here now, two former members of congress. vin, first to you, it s a republican battle and people don t know exactly who s going to come out on top. there are a couple of candidates that seem to be leading contenders, but anytime you ve got multiple ballots and people trading votes, it s very hard to predict. but one prediction is michael steele will not be the winner. that s exactly right. there s a consensus we can t have steele for two more years. it s hard to predict. the low finisher does not have to drop off. conc ....

and it s not just about speech. it is also about entrepreneurship and innovation. it s about our economy. there is no question in my mind that without significant changes, the proposal currently pending before the f.c.c. would be bad for our economy. think about companies like youtube, which started in a tiny office above a pizzeria and grew to be worth billions of dollars. at the time, google had a competing product, google video, which was which was then the standard but was widely seen as inferior. had google been able to pay comcast large amounts of money to make its web site faster than youtube s, youtube would be nowhere. fortunately, google couldn t pay for priority access and the rest is history. you think about facebook. once upon a time it was a small start-up. remember friend is ster r or my face. they were once the dominant social networking sites before facebook won over users with a vastly improved product. but that might not have ever happened if friend ....

MSNBC First Look December 14, 2010

i m lynn berry. those stories and more are straight ahead. this is first look on msnbc. we begin with advancing the deal. senate lawmakers rallied a rare show of bipartisan support yesterday with an overwhelming majority agreeing to advance the president s proposed tax cut compromise. time approval in the senate could come as early as today but once the measure moves into the house, its fate is much less certain. nbc s tracie potts joins us from washington with more on this. tracie, good morning. reporter: the vote was 83-15 in the senate. rarely do you see that type of support from both democrats and republicans here in washington. it was a test vote, but it could very well foreshadow what we ll see when the real vote actually happens possibly as early as later on today. democrats and republicans alike say they held their nose and voted for this compromise, but democrats much more so because they opposed that 35% estate tax that would have been 20% higher without ....
