1923-2020 Ardyce Stock, 97, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, where she was a resident. Ardyce Elizabeth Stock, daughter of Rudy and Luella (Sillars) Stark, was born Oct. 4, 1923, in rural Lake View. She joined her two older siblings, Ruth and Lyle. Ardyce graduated in 1943 from Lake View High School, where she met the love of her life, Eugene Stock. While Eugene was deployed in the Army Air Corps in Europe, she attended Burroughs Business School in Des Moines, Iowa, and from there moved in 1943 to San Francisco, California, where she worked for South Pacific Standard Oil. She and five friends took the civil service tests and moved to Chicago in 1944 to work for the Treasury Department. After World War II ended, she returned to Lake View and married Eugene on April 11, 1945. They were blessed with two sons, Mitchell and Dean. They lived on the Stock Century Farm for 66 years. ....
