A delegation from Pangman returned to the Southeast Cornerstone School Division monthly board meeting on Thursday, as they continued to work on the board on providing information on the school and the community. Currently, Pangman School is under review with the intent of closure or grade discontinuance. Elwood White, chair of the Pangman School Community Council, addressed procedural concerns from the school review handbook. Quoting from the handbook, White said, The student s most important job is to learn, a responsibility shared by all interested parties to shielding the students from strong emotions that sometimes accompanies a school review. White said that this wasn t handled well in Pangman. The students were sent home with a notice of a review, to take home to their parents. The students were horrified, and they knew before the parents did. ....

Citing various books and a documentary, he quotes journalists, talking heads, and a novelist about the Iraq “debacle” and the “false pretexts” that sent the country to war. None of these sources had direct experience. Yet, when he had the opportunity to take in firsthand accounts of soldiers who actually fought in the war, which accompanied their portraits, painted by the president who made the decision to send them, Graybill didn’t find time to see the exhibit. “Portraits of Courage,” on display at the university’s George W. Bush Library for seven months, wasn’t worth a walk across campus to the professor because it “aroused a state of cognitive dissonance in [him].” Can these be the words of a serio ....

Trump for President of the United States. “Tennessee’s electors casting ballots in the Electoral College is the last step in our electoral process,” said Secretary Hargett. “Tennessee had a safe, sensible and responsible election, thanks to the hard work and planning by our Division of Elections, the administrators and staff of our 95 county election commissions and all of the poll officials who stepped up to serve in their communities.” The Volunteer State has 11 of the total 538 electoral votes that make up the U.S. Electoral College. Each state gets two at-large electors and one elector for each congressional district. Tennessee has nine congressional districts. ....
