Yet again, capital city Bengaluru gets a lion share of almost Rs 8,000 crore in the annual state budget of Karnataka. Here’s a list of all that the IT capital has got provisions for.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa presented the state budget today at noon even as the opposition staged a walk out saying the government had ‘no moral rights’ to continue to be in power over recent happenings in the state.
Yediyurappa highlighted various provisions dedicated to women as he presented the budget on the occasion of International Women’s day. That apart, Yediyurappa’s budget has tactfully tried to keep the two largest communities - Lingayats and Vokkaligas - pleased with an equal grant of Rs 500 crore each. ....

Today, Karnataka chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa announced that his government will be setting up goshala in each district in the state ‘to prevent slaughter of cows and to conserve livestock .
The Karnataka Budget for 2021-22 is being presented in the State legislature today. This is the BJP government’s second full-fledged Budget in this term.
Yediyurappa, who also holds the finance portfolio, announced the construction of a ‘Yathri Nivasa’ in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh for devotees from Karnataka visiting the temple town, allocating Rs 10 crore in 2021-22 Budget. He said that the UP government will provide 5-acre land for the purpose. ....

MYSURU: Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa has announced a slew of new projects for the districts of the south Karnataka region in his budget speech on Monday.
The new announcements include action to complete expeditiously works of Rs 384 crore Shivamogga airport, commencement of regional cancer treatment centres in Shivamogga and Mysuru at an expenditure of Rs 100 crore, AYUSH university in Shivamogga, and establishment of a research centre at an expenditure of two crore rupees in the Veterinary College, Shivamogga to promote the incorporation of ayurvedic medicines in veterinary science, ....

Karnataka Budget 2021-22: BS Yediyurappa emphasises on women empowerment, tourism, agriculture and irrigation


- Increase in reservation from 40% to 50% to the farmers’ children in the Agricultural Universities.
- Subsidy being given to the small tractors is extended for 25 to 45 HP tractors.
- Under Atma Nirbhar Bharath Abhiyan subsidy at 35% from Central Government together with an additional subsidy of 15% from State Government to agro-processing and post-harvest management units.
- A sum of Rs. 25 crore is reserved for research in yellow leaf disease of areca nut and encourage growing alternate crops.
- The high-tech cocoon market will be built in Ramanagar at an expenditure of Rs.75 crore.
