Harrisburg’s downtown library will be getting a lot bigger soon.
The Dauphin County Library System has kicked off a $3.5 million fundraising campaign that includes an expansion of the 107-year-old McCormick Riverfront Library in Harrisburg into an adjoining, historic property. The groundbreaking for the expansion is expected to take place in July and be completed in August 2022. ....

Dauphin County Library System closing 2 Harrisburg locations Saturday as a precaution

The McCormick Riverfront and Madeline L. Olewine Memorial libraries in Harrisburg will be closed Saturday as a precaution due to heightened security concerns, and a decision on when to reopen later in the week will depend on the situation downtown.
McCormick Riverfront, 101 Walnut St., and Madeline L. Olewine Memorial, 2410 N. Third St., do not have Sunday hours and were scheduled to be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The Library’s other six locations will be open as usual, a press release said. ....
