Newark Advocate Granville’s First Presbyterian Church is using its current virtual church-going status to accomplish a major renovation, particularly of the downtown church’s upper structures. This past week, workers were passing steel beams through a small, upper window, intended to re-enforce the church’s ancient timbers. Church member Marjory Trishman, a retired project manager in design and construction from The Ohio State University, is spearheading the effort with Robertson Construction. The construction effort started on Feb. 1, and scaffolding up the front of the church located at 110 W. Broadway in downtown Granville soon followed.
