“Be steady, kill and don’t give way!”  That was the order of Lt.-Col. Jim Stone, the tough commander of the 2nd Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, to his 700 soldiers on the eve of their first battle in Korea. The Canadians were defending Hill 677 and in April 1951, north of the village of Kap’yong (Gapyeong), an estimated 6,000 Chinese troops converged on their exposed position. ....
