JAMMU, July 6: Irate residents of Roop Nagar, Durga Nagar, Laxmi Puram Chinore and adjoining localities held a strong protest demonstration and blocked Bantalab-Jammu road for hours together in protest against the power and water crisis in the area.
The protest was led by Corportors Kapil Chib and Rekha Manhas besides the large number of activists of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by Roshan Lal Raina and Ravinder Bakshi also participated along with a large number of activists of adjoining areas.
They accused the PDD authorities of their total failure in maintaining power supply in the area due to which people have suffered a lot in this hot and humid temperature. The protestors said that despite collecting hefty fee from consumers in these localities the PDD has failed to ensure proper supply of electricity which remains off for hours together or often plays hide and seek.
