Tug boat, towboat used in unique Ohio River tow to Nucor | Business

A unique tow was employed, on April 29, 2024, using a tug boat and a towboat pushing a barge loaded with air separation units for the Nucor West Virginia construction of a new sheet steel mill in Mason County, near the community of Apple Grove. The M/V’s MISS ELIZABETH is pulling and GRADY RAY is pushing the deck barge to Nucor s the construction site at mile 282 on the Ohio River.
Also, Nucor Steel West Virginia Vice President and General Manager John Farris gave a construction update on the $3.5 billion new steel mill project.
