Summit County invites Kamas residents to second Ure Ranch open house

The county’s Land and Natural Resources Department received hundreds of community comments regarding the future of the 834-acre family farm during an open house event in January, and staff plan to dive into the results during an information session from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Kamas Services Building.

What opportunities are there at the 834-acre Ure Ranch?

So far, Summit County officials considering an education center and gathering places, recreational amenities and continued agricultural preservation, as well as community housing and small business opportunities at the Ure Ranch though nothing has been decided, according to County Lands and Natural Resource Director Jess Kirby.

Summit County initiates $20M bond process

Summit County on Wednesday initiated the process to issue $20 million in debt to pay for facilities upgrades and infrastructure projects.
