Internal disputes in Fatah over party slates Nasser al-Qudwa, a member of Fatah’s Central Committee, announced an agreement had been reached to establish a Palestinian national democratic forum which would form the slate that would run for election to the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC). The forum plans to invite Marwan Barghouti, a member of Fatah’s Central Committee imprisoned in Israel, and activists of the reformist faction headed by Muhammad Dahlan, to join (al-Araby al-Jadeed, March 3, 2021). Nasser al-Qudwa promised that he would support Mustafa Barghouti if ran for the office of PA chairman (Shehab, March 4, 2021). In response, according to “Fatah sources,” senior Fatah Central Committee figures told Nasser al-Qudwa that if he ran on a ticket separate from Fatah he would be expelled from the movement (al-Akhbar, March 8, 2021).
